Today was held the press conference for the Baniyas match against Al Ain for the 9th round of Arabian Gulf League, which will be held next Sunday, 4th October 2018 at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium. The press conference attended by of coach Jurcic and the Colombian Michael Ortega with a number of local press.

Coach started by describing the importance of the match against a big team like Al Ain, although they did not achieve positive results in the previous games but they are a strong team that has high caliber players and a great coach and we certainly respect Al Ain team but we will go to make a big game and achieve a positive result. We have prepared well for this match through the last training sessions.

As for the absence, Jurcic confirmed the continued absence of the injured trio Ahmed Dada, Fawaz Awanah and Ahmed Al Shamsi, and there is no new information about their readiness for this match, and we will have miss Hassan Al Mahrami as well due to suspension for the accumulation of yellow cards, otherwise all players are ready for this match.

He also pointed out that these important absences will not prevent us from achieving our goal is to get a positive result, we have already overcome these absences as we have other players have the ability to compensate for these absences.

He added that the previous match against Al Dhafra felt that my players were on pressure because they were providing excellent football but did not achieve points. Al-Dhafra team was close to our level as well. The pressure was great on the players but after the win we gave up the pressure and we will meet Al Ain with high spirits.

He also noted that he had an old friendship with Al Ain coach Zoran in Croatian Dynamo Zagreb, but during the match this friendship ends, and if Zoran wins this game, he will definitely congratulate him for victory.

He explained also that Al Ain has a homogeneous players for many years and they have distinguished players, such as foreigners Berg and Caio or locals such as Bandar Al Ahbabi or Amer Abdul Rahman who have already worn the colors of Al Samawi in the past years.

Colombian Michael Ortega also said he had a desire to give more to Baniyas and his goal was certainly a positive result for Al Ain.

And about his substitution in the second half in the last matches, Ortega said that this is due to the technical vision of the coach and he certainly respects the decisions of the coach, which is ultimately in the interest of the team and has no objection to it.

Ortega pointed out that it is a big game against a big team, and we will try to apply the coach’s instructions for a positive result.
