Jurcic: It is Derby match and will not be easy


Today was held the press conference for the Baniyas match against Al Wahda for the 5th round of Arabian Gulf Cup, which will be held next Wednesday, 13th November 2018 at Baniya Stadium. The press conference attended by of coach Jurcic and the Khaled Al Hashimi with a number of local press.

The coach started by describing the game as a derby match against a big team such as Al Wahda. Derby matches are strong and competitive, especially since Al Wahda has four wins out of four games in this tournament and they are taking this tournament very seriously.

“It is difficult to judge Al Wahda team in this tournament because this tournament depends on a mixture of the big players and the young players so we do not know how Al Wahda will enter this match but we are fully prepared for this challenge.

As for our Baniyas team, Jurcic stressed that Al Samawi has four difficult matches to come in the Arabian Gulf League, which follows the next two games in the Arabian Gulf Cup. Therefore, the technical staff prepared a special training program in preparation for the next stage of the league in this season, he said.

Jurcic said he had young players who would have the opportunity to play in this match and the cup competition in general, an opportunity to show their potential and prove themselves. At the same time, he stressed that Al Samawi will take this game very seriously, winning creates a positive atmosphere and motivation to continue the victories in the next important games in the league.

As for the absence of Baniyas, the coach confirmed the continuity of the absence of the trio Ahmed Dada and Ahmed Al Shamsi and Fawaz Awanah are having a special treatment program and we hope they will be ready for the next game against Al Nasr, except that all players are ready for this match.

The young defender Khaled Al Hashemi, who explained that he is ready for any match and his absence from the previous matches, is a decision from the coach which is fully respected.

Al-Hashemi added that the Gulf Cup matches are an opportunity for young players to show their potential and prove themselves to the coach, the media and even the fans.
