Al-Samawi entered the match with a team of Fahd Al-Dhahnani, Yousif Jaber, Robson, Hassan Al Mahrami, Ahmed Dada, Michael Ortega, Fawaz Aouana, Haboush, Leroy George, Suhail Al Noubi and Pedro Conde.
The match began with a preference for the visitors as Al-Samawi took over most of the first half and made the first goal through Colombian Michael Ortega in the 23rd minute after a series of ground passes to reach Al-Samawi’s first goal.
Baniyas attacks continued until they managed to add a second goal through Dutchman Leroy George in the 36th minute after a pass from Yousif Jaber to the net.
The home team tried to return and reduce the difference but were unable to score to end the first half with the advance of the Baniyas with two goals for nothing.
In the second half Al Wasl tried to return to meet or reduce the difference but faced strong defences from the Baniyas side. But in the 86th minute Caio realised the first goal by penalty kick after returning to the VAR to score the first goal for Al Wasl.
The last minutes of the game saw strong pressure from Al Wasl trying to score the equaliser but the team was the stronger team to maintain the result and score the three points from Al Wasl Zabeel Stadium.
