Al Nasr won three points in the final minutes against Al Samawi after winning 2-1 in the match that brought together the two teams at Al Maktoum Stadium for the 23rd round of Arabian Gulf League.
Al-Samawi entered the match with a group of Fahd Al-Dhahnani, Yousif Jaber, Hassan Al Mahrami, Robson De Paula, Ahmed Al-Mahri, Fawaz Awanah, Michael Ortega, Leroy George, Ahmed Shehdeh, Haboush Saleh and Pedro Conde.
Rooney Fernandez opened the scoring for Al Nasr in the 17th minute with a powerful ground shot on Fahd Al-Dhahani goal’s, the Baniyas goalkeeper, and turned around for a corner kick.
After that, Baniyas started to take possession of the ball and Al Nasr took off after 20 minutes. Youssef Jaber came from the left in the narrow corner and was saved by goalkeeper Ahmed Shambeh and turned to a corner kick in the 26th minute.
While Al Nasr scored the leading goal after Jassim Yacoub headed header from inside the penalty area scored by Ahmed Al Mahri by mistake as an own goal in the 31st minute.
By the end of the first half, Baniyas scored a fine header from Ahmed Shehdeh after a corner by Leroy George in the 44th minute. The teams went into the dressing rooms with a positive draw for both teams by 1-1.
In the second half, took the possession and tried to score the second goal but Hassan Al Maharrami Baniyas defender received a red card directly after a tackle against Rashid Mohammed Omar on the edge of the penalty area in the 67th minute.
In the 87th minute, the winning goal came from Rooney Fernandez after a cross from Salem Salih to give Al Nasr the three points of the match.
