The pre-match press conference was held today for Al Wasl against Baniyas fixture in the twelfth round of the Arabian Gulf League in the presence of coach Schaefer, the player Eissa Al Otaiba, the media, and newspaper.
The coach mentioned back Al-Jazira match and talk about it for a minute, as the game was affected by minor details and mistakes we made, which lead us to give away the win to Al Jazira, due to the lack of experience, which poured in the interest of the away team.
Schaefer said that our players should learn from the lesson of the Al-Jazira match and take advantage of the mistakes that we made. Finally, I would like to thank our young players, as well as the experienced, on top of them Sasha, Fawaz, Fahad, and Pedro, who presented an excellent match in terms of tactical aspects and fought to the last breathe.
Speaking of Al-Wasl, the coach said that Al-Wasl have the player Lima, who always increases the chances of Al-Wasl against any team and this happened in their last game against Khor Fakkan, but we in Baniyas we don’t play like them, we depend on the teamwork more than individual skills.
Schaefer added that we will miss the efforts of Fawaz Awanah and Joao Victor, due to the yellow cards, and it is up to Eissa Al-Otaiba and Suhail Al-Noubi who are important additions and their presence is very important in the Al Wasl match because they always provide solutions and assistance to their teammates.
About Baniyas 11 points in 11 matches, Schaeffer said that we lost a lot of points due to refereeing errors and sometimes lack of experience, but we will work in the new year to gain more points, to improve the team’s position and that with our reliance on youth and the current improvements phase, surely we won’t be able to score all the points in every single game, but we are on the right track and satisfied with the team.
Eissa Al-Otaiba was present at the conference, where he said that the Al Samawi defense succeeded in keeping the sheets clean for more than four games this season, and this is what we will seek against Al-Wasl, also to come out with the positive result and win.
Eissa also said that the coach will apply a plan to stop Lima and the dangerousness of Al Wasl in general and that’s what we seek to provide a good and satisfactory performance in the last two games in the league, whether against Al Wasl or at the end of the first half of the league matches against Al Nasr and that he has the ambition to play with the Emirates national team through Baniyas club.
