In the second leg of the first round of ADIB Cup, Bani Yas defeated Dibba Al-Hisn 3-0, securing qualification to the quarter-finals with an aggregate score of 7-2.
The Sky Blues entered the match with a lineup that included Fahad Al-Dhanhani, Mats Johan, Khamis Al-Hammadi, Khalaf Al-Hosani, Joao Victor, Fawaz Awana, Sil Samuel, Isaac, Suhail Al-Nubi, Lusamba, and Youssef Niakate.
The match witnessed a clear superiority for Bani Yas, who benefited early from the expulsion of Dibba Al-Hisn player Niksa Vujanovic in the tenth minute after his violent intervention on Bani Yas goalkeeper Fahad Al-Dhanhani. This expulsion gave Bani Yas a strong boost, as Frenchman Youssef Niakate was able to open the scoring in the 36th minute after a cross pass from Suhail Al-Nubi.
Before the end of the first half, Khalaf Al-Hosani added the second goal with a header after an accurate pass from Joao Victor, to end the half with Bani Yas leading 2-0. In the second half, Dibba Al-Hisn tried to get back into the game despite the numerical deficit, but Bani Yas maintained their superiority and closed the spaces. In the 90+2 minute, Lazar Markovic scored the third goal after a great individual effort. Thanks to this victory, Bani Yas secured qualification to face Al Wasl in the quarter-finals, after winning the two matches with a score of 7-2
