Baniyas succeeded in reaching the quarter-finals of the President's Cup after defeating the Emirates with a score of three clean goals in the match that brought the two teams together at the Emirates Club Stadium.

Al-Samawi entered the meeting with a squad that included Fahd Al-Dhanhani, Sasha, Muhammad Jaber, Khamis Al-Hammadi, Joao Victor, Fawaz Awana, Gaston Suarez, Nicolas Gemienz, Ahmed Shehda, Suhail Al-Noubi, and Isaac Thelin.

The first half, the two teams were unable to create many chances, as most of the attempts were shy except for a header that was made by Baniyas by Isaac Thelin on the side of the goal.

In the second half, Baniyas entered strongly and managed to score the first goal through Ahmed Shehda in the 46th minute through a header ball after a distinguished cross from Gaston Suarez.

In the 58th minute, Baniyas managed to double the score and scored the second goal through the same player, Ahmed Shehda, after a distinguished skill and a left shot.

Before the end of the meeting, Baniyas was able to confirm the victory and add the second goal through Mohammed Rashid in the 88th minute, so that Al-Samawi succeeded in reaching the quarter-finals of the tournament.
