Baniyas Club held the pre-match press conference ahead of its upcoming fixture against Al Ain in Round 17 of the ADNOC Pro League, with head coach Daniel Isăilă and player Suhail Al Noobi addressing the media.
Head coach Daniel Isăilă emphasized the importance of the upcoming match, describing it as a tough challenge against one of the strongest teams in the league.
“We are facing a very important match against a strong opponent like Al Ain. They have different ambitions, competing for the title, while we are going through a difficult period in the league,” Isăilă said.
He added:
“Al Ain dropped points in their last match, so they will come with full determination to achieve the best possible result. We respect the opponent, but we will give everything to deliver a strong performance.”
Isăilă highlighted the team’s ambition to secure their first home victory:
“We hope to achieve our first win at home this season. Everything in football has a beginning, and we must believe in our ability to make it happen.”
Speaking about new signings, he said:
“We brought in players with quality and experience, but they need time to adapt, especially as they were not playing regularly before joining us. I am confident they will help the team in the future.”
He continued:
“We know we dropped some easy points in the past, but we cannot change that. We must accept it and focus on what’s ahead.”
Isăilă also stressed the importance of the mental aspect:
“We have a good group of players, but we need to handle pressure better, especially given our current position in the table. We must learn how to fight and deal with these situations.”
Regarding team news, he said:
“We have some absences for this match. One of the new players will not be available, and Camara will miss the game due to the passing of his mother — we extend our deepest condolences to him, and we hope to dedicate a good performance to her memory.”
He added:
“Koroma and Khalfan have returned after long injuries, but they are not fully fit yet. We will assess their condition before the match.”
He concluded:
“We are working hard and have good solutions within the squad. We must show strong character on the pitch to achieve a positive result.”
