In the presence of His Excellency Major General Ahmed Nasser Al-Risi and His Excellency Eng. Marwan bin Ghalaita, President of the UAE Football Federation, Baniyas crowned the First Division Shield for the 2017-2018 season last night at the end of the tournament. Al-Samawi affirmed his merit to qualify for the Arabian Gulf League. Baniyas successfully won Masafi with five clean goals, in the last round match which was played at Al Shamkha Stadium. Also present were Abdullah Nasser Al-Junaibi, Vice President of the Football Federation, Muslim Al-Kathiri, member of the Board of Directors of the Football Federation, and Mohammed Abdullah Hazzam, Secretary General.
Baniyas scored 52 points, 16 wins and 4 draws and two losses. Also scored 52 goals, while conceding 16 goals. Baniyas finished his career with a win over Masafi in his first season, Ivorian striker Manouche scored the leading goal in the 24th minute. Ahmed Rabie added the second goal before the break. In the second half, Baniyas hit again. Ahmed Rabea managed to score a double in the 54th and 77th minutes. Saleh Al Manhali added the fifth goal in the 84th minute.
Baniyas returned to professional league after 399 days, during which it achieved remarkable results. It was able to capture the lead since the fourth round of the first division.
