After high determination and tactical discipline Baniyas tie with Al Jazira


For the third round of the Arabian Gulf League, Baniyas tied with Al-Jazira by 2-2 in the match that was held at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium on Thursday, 20 September 2018.

Al-Samawi entered the match with list of Fahd Al-Dhahnani, Robson, Hassan Al Mahrami, Yousef Jaber, Ahmed Al-Mahri, Michael Ortega, Fawaz Awana, Haboush Saleh, Suhail Al Nubi, Leroy George and Pedro Conde.

The first half saw opportunities for the teams and was the most dangerous to the home team where they created a number of attacks, but found a great goalkeeper Fahd Al-Dhahnani and strong defenses led by Robson and Al Muharrami.

The excitement came before the whistle of the first half as Al-Jazeera managed to score the lead by Ali Mabkhout in the 45th minute after a powerful shot. While the response came quickly when Conde score the equalizing goal in the 46th minute to go to the dressing room with a positive draw for both teams.

In the second half Al Jazira tried to lead the result again where there was a serious chance for Ali Mabkhout but it hit the bar in the 69th minute. Then Al Jazira scored the second goal by Nasser Barazit in the 84th minute.

Al-Samawi’s insistence did not stop but they tried to return to the game and had what they wanted when the successful substitute Salem Al Hammadi managed to shoot a poweful ball that settled in the Al Jazira’s nets announcing the equalizing result for for Baniyas at the 89th minute to end the game with a positive draw with two goals for both teams.
