Difficult victory for Baniyas against Al Dhafra


Baniyas got a tough and difficult victory against Al Dhafra by 2-1 in the match that brought the two teams for the 8th round of Arabian Gulf League which was held at Baniyas Stadium.

Al-Samawi entered the match with list of Fahd Al-Dhahnani, Robson, Hassan Al Mahrami, Yousif Jaber, Salem Al Hammadi, Michael Ortega, Faisal Al Khedim, Haboush Saleh, Suhail Al Nubi, Leroy George and Pedro Conde.

The first half did not saw much attempts by both teams, but saw many shots that referee going to the Video Referee (VAR), which gave the match character of the coldness on the first half of the game to end with a draw between the two teams.

The excitement came in the second half when Baniyas managed to score the first goal through Captain Yousef Jaber with a free-kick an amazing free kick announced the leading of Baniyas.
A few minutes later, after returning to the Video Referee (VAR), the referee announced the second goal for Al-Dhafra when Rashid Muhair Al-Kutbi kick a header passed the goal line to announce the draw and return the game to the starting point.

Before the end of the game, Al-Samawi went back to score the goal of winning by Souahil Al Nubi after great shot and nice assist by Hamad Al-Ahbabi, who entered in the second half to make Baniyas leading by two goals to a goal for Al Dhafra and to collect the full three points in a difficult and important game against a direct competitor in the table of ranking.

In the next round, Al-Samawi will meet Al Ain at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium on Sunday for the ninth round of the Arabian Gulf League.
