Baniyas suffered a 3-2 defeat against United in their Round 2 clash of the 2026/27 ADNOC Pro League season.

United made an early breakthrough, with Willy Semedo converting from the penalty spot in the 3rd minute. Both sides continued to push forward throughout the remainder of the first half, but the score remained unchanged as the visitors headed into the break with a one-goal advantage.

Baniyas increased their attacking efforts after the restart in search of a way back into the contest. However, United extended their lead through Moustapha Name in the 57th minute, before Semedo struck again in the 68th minute to make it 3-0.

Despite the three-goal deficit, the Sky Blues produced a determined response in the closing stages. Substitute Mohammed Awadalla pulled one back for Baniyas in the 76th minute.

Just 77 seconds later, fellow substitute Rocky Marciano found the net in the 77th minute, reducing the deficit to a single goal and setting up an intense finish to the encounter.

Baniyas continued to push forward in search of an equaliser during the closing minutes, but were unable to find the decisive third goal before the final whistle, as the match ended 3-2 in favour of United.

Baniyas will now turn their attention to the upcoming fixtures as the team looks to bounce back and secure a positive result in the next round of the ADNOC Pro League.
