Baniyas narrowly lose against Al Wasl


Baniyas got defeated against Al Wasl in a match full of madness saw seven goals, which ended in victory for Al Wasl by 4-3 in a match played for the 20th round of Arabian Gulf League, which was held on Baniyas Club Stadium in Al Shamkha today Friday, March 3, 2017.

Baniyas entered the meeting match with lineup of Ahmed Dida as goalkeeper, Darwish Mohammad Khaled al-Hashemi, Ali Al Ameri, Ahmed Mehri in the line of defense, Mark Milligan and Faisal Khadim and Harry Novello in the middle, and Suhail Al Noubi and Sultan Saif and Ezequiel Hentiy in the front.

Baniyas initiated the attack by two consecutive misses scored 7 via Henty and at 9 minutes by Milligan. Al Wasl opened the scoring early by the Brazilian Fabio Lima at 10 minutes, Baniyas had many opportunities but was unsuccessful in exploited to score the second goal for Al Wasl through Caio at 32 minutes to end the first half leading for Wasl 2-0.

At the beginning of the second half, the referee awarded a penalty for Al Wasl caused by the player Sultan Saif in which Caio successfully score it the third goal at 48 minutes, ‘after that goal Bani Yas fully managed most of the second half and scored to reduce the difference by the player Harry Novello 52 minutes’ after a wonderful shot with great effort and assist by Henty, but soon Al Wasl scored the fourth goal by Caio at 55 minutes’ after a powerful shot from outside the box.

Baniyas doubled the efforts, hoping to reduce the deficit and had real chances to score firstly by Souhail Al Noubi at 73 minutes and the second at 77 minutes by the player Ahmed Al Mahri after a real chance in front of the keeper, but he was unlucky. Before the end of the match the referee whistled a penalty kick for Baniyas successfully translated to a goal by Mark Milligan to score the third goal for Baniyas at 91st minute and to end the match with result of 3-4.
